13 Jan – Local venues
A Time of Guided Prayer is a retreat in daily life costing a fraction of most retreats but still a wonderful opportunity to:
•Take time out
•Deepen your relationship with God
•Explore new ways of praying
•Find help with any kind of decision
•Discover more who you really are
The diocese aims to ‘accompany young people in their journey towards Christian Maturity.’ By offering a programme of guided prayer, the Youth Support Team hopes to accompany young adults as they deepen their relationship with Christ and grow in faith.
What is a Time of Guided Prayer? It is a daily time of prayer and weekly individual meetings with an experienced prayer guide.
Who is it for? Anyone who is already Christian and who wants to deepen their prayer life, or someone who is not sure what they believe but is willing to take a risk and seriously explore the reality of God.. Either way, it is for any generous soul willing to commit to the elements of the week.. This programme is aimed primarily at young adults aged between 18 and 35.

CATHOLICISM – A Journey to the Heart of the Faith
CATHOLICISM is a ten-session course which explores the defining elements of our faith – Jesus’s Incarnation, life and teaching, the sacraments, prayer and liturgy, Mary, the apostles and saints, the Church, grace, salvation, heaven and hell. It is presented in a series of stunningly produced dvd films by Fr Robert Barron of the Catholic Word on Fire ministry, who brings the essentials of our faith alive by visiting those places where God has touched the earth. See www.wordonfire.org for more details.
We are excited to invite young adults (18-30) to take part in the full CATHOLICISM course. on ten consecutive Sundays (finishing on April 1st - Palm Sunday) in the Hinsley Room, next to Westminster Cathedral from 7-9pm beginning on Sunday 29 January. The course is free but there is a limited number of spaces so it is essential to reserve a place. For more info and to book your place contact Fr. Richard at richardnesbitt@rcdow.org.uk

– The Mount Street Jesuit Centre, 114 Mount Street, W1K 3AH
7.15pm
First Sunday Mass is held as its name suggests on the first Sunday of every month, in the main Church. Each month a different celebrant presides for us, though usually a Jesuit. This Mass is served by members of our Music Ministry who provide live music throughout, and our Ministry of the Word and Welcome Ministers take an active role in this community celebration.
Our Third Sunday Mass is our more contemplative liturgy, which takes place from September through to July on the Third Sunday of the Month. We gather in the Chapel of St. Ignatius within the Church and as part of the Mass we take time to listen and pray more contemplatively (in the Ignatian tradition) the Liturgy of the Word. We hear the Gospel read twice and spend twenty minutes reflecting on prayer points provided by the presider for that evening. After the Mass we gather as a community to socialise in the Meeting Room of the Mount Street Jesuit Centre.
Quiet Prayer 7.15pmMass begins 7.30pm
HOW TO GET HERE The Mount Street Jesuit Centre is located at 114 Mount Street, W1K 3AH in the heart of Mayfair, in-between Oxford Street, Park Lane, and Piccadilly.

What is Taize?
The Taize Community is an ecumenical Christian monastic order in Taize, Saone-et-Loire, Burgundy, France. It is composed of a little over 100 brothers who come from Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant traditions. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make pilgrimages to Taizé each year for prayer, Bible study, sharing, and communal work.
The Taize Community emphasizes that they do not want to create a movement or organization centered on the community and/or the meetings. Rather they want to send the young pilgrims back from the youth meetings to their local churches, to their parishes, groups or communities, to undertake, with many others, a “Pilgrimage of Trust on Earth.”
In June 2009 a group of St. Mary went to Taize to experience the life in community, meditations and prayers. It was such a success that the group wants to continue and pass this wonderful experience to our church.
The prayer session will be held every second Thursday at 7:30 in the Bownes Room, St.Mary's Cadogan Street. Please enter through the door on Draycott Terrace.
