Parish Council
The Parish Council consists of eight elected members, four members appointed by the Parish Priest, plus the Chair of the Finance Committee which operates separately. The Parish Priest will normally attend and endorse the decision-making process.
Chair: Mick Hegarty, Vice-Chair: Michael Nolan, Secretary: Paddy Lyons, Members: Francis Ayers, Ursula Campbell, Denis Carey, Katharine Dearing, Peter Emmanuel, Elsie Hunter, Paul McAuley, Jim McColgan, Sister Eileen McElhone, Stella Ogbolu.
The parish is divided into spheres of activity with one or more members of the PC responsible for its management and development.
Preparation for the Sacraments
There are a number of instructors or catechists, under the co-ordination of Stella Grech, who run classes for First Communion (normally for children in Year 3 but includes a preparatory class for Year 2 children attending non-Catholic schools); Confirmation; and older (under 12) children who are preparing for Baptism. Some of these classes are for both parents and children. Training for catechists is largely parish-based, but there are sessions at the diocesan centre in Hendon.
Stella works at the Parish House (8445 0838) on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings.
Baptisms and Funerals: by arrangement with the parish priest
Marriages: six months notice to allow time for recommended period of instruction
