Night of Witness at Westminster Cathedral

posted on 02 May 2012

Aid to the Church in Need’s first ever Night of Witness will soon be upon us! Will you join us to stand up for faith and freedom?

The event takes place at Westminster Cathedral from 5.30pm on Thursday 17th May - and it is YOUR chance to give a voice to millions of suffering Christians around the world.

We'll be joined on the Cathedral Piazza by Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster, who will greet our special guests Archbishop Joseph Coutts from Pakistan and Bishop Joannes Zakaria from Egypt. And there will be dance, music and inspirational speeches from an array of guests including Catholic band ooberfuse and the Eliot Smith Dance Company. See the full programme.

The evening starts at 5:30 with sung Mass in the Cathedral, followed by a Rally for Religious Freedom on the Cathedral Piazza at 6:30, and finishing with a Vigil of Light back in the Cathedral from 7:30 to 8:30. Willl you join us and show your solidarity with suffering Christians around the world?

'[Religious freedom is] the first of the human rights, for it expresses the most fundamental reality of the person.' Pope Benedict XVI
