Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Italy
posted on 04 April 2012
This September, 14th to 19th, a group of young adults (18 to 35) are travelling to Villa Palazzola, outside Rome, for a pilgrimage/retreat to be led by Fr David Reilly, Diocesan Youth Chaplain at Villa Palazzola.
Our retreat will take place in a stunning lakeside location just outside Rome, Villa Palazzola is wonderful 13th century Cistercian monastery, fully refurbished and modernised with a large swimming pool and breath taking garden terrace. Palazzola is 18 miles south of Rome and sited in 16 acres of oak, chestnut and pine woodlands. The Villa nestles high up on the shores of Lake Albano, an extinct volcano with the papal palace of Castel Gandolfo on the far side of the lake. Palazzola has superb views of the city of Rome and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
The peace and serenity of Villa Palazzola should help to make the retreat relaxing and combined with daily liturgies and the celebration of the Sacraments daily, a truly spiritual experience for all participants.
