Sunday and Weekday Missals

The Bishops’ Conference has not yet authorised the publication of Sunday and Weekday Missals, containing the new translation of the Mass, but the current translation of the Lectionary. It is likely to authorise publication shortly, and details will be given here.

However the Bishops' Conference has advised that it expects a new English translation of the Lectionary for Mass to be approved by the Holy See in c. 3 years time. When this approval is given new editions of Sunday and Weekday Missals will be needed.

Caveat emptor.

The Music Makers have produced a CD of recordings of the English chant  from the new edition of the Roman Missal.

A schema has been produced for Westminster Diocese, offering a timetable for introducing the new chant. Parishes are free to adopt and adapt this scheme, according to their various circumstances. Pew sheets have been prepared for the different 'Weeks' of the schema to place the chant in people's hands. The chant is also featured in Praying the Mass. (See above).

It is presently in negotiation with RNIB to produce a braille edition of some of the texts, and it is expected that a braille edition of the Missal itself will also be produced but in seasonal volumes.
