Swine Flu and restrictions on distributing Holy Communion
|
|
posted on 15 August 2009 Guidance has been provided to parish priests on how to make the judgement whether there is, because of the incidence of swine flu, reason to vary the usual ways in which Holy Communion is distributed. Where there is good reason to restrict the ministering of Holy Communion to one kind, as the Host only; and to minister only in the hand, and not on the tongue, there will be need for an explanation to the parish community. The Liturgy Commission has produced two resources designed to assist with this.
