Cardinal to read message at Mass for Menezes

posted on 28 July 2005
Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor is cutting short his pilgrimage to Lourdes in order to return for the Requiem Mass for the Brazilian shot by police last Friday.

The Requiem Mass for Jean Charles de Menezes will be held at Westminster Cathedral at 7pm tomorrow. It will be led by Fr Frederico Ribeiro, the chaplain to the Brazilian community in London, and will be attended by relatives and friends of Mr Menezes. The Mass is being timed to coincide with the funeral of Mr Menezes in Brazil. Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor will read a message at the end of the Mass.
