Cardinal Welcomes New Appointment

posted on 05 June 2001 On the news that Bishop Patrick O'Donoghue, titular Bishop of Tulana, has been appointed the new Bishop of Lancaster, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, Archbishop of Westminster, said:
'I welcome the appointment of Bishop Patrick O'Donoghue as the next Bishop of Lancaster. He will be greatly missed in the Archdiocese of Westminster but we wish him well. 'The people of Lancaster can be sure that they are receiving a good pastor in Bishop O'Donoghue. I can assure him of the prayers of all the clergy and people of the Archdiocese of Westminster.' |
