posted on 22 January 2007 Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor is to meet with the priests of the Diocese of Westminster in a series of meetings across the Diocese to be held during January, February and March 2007. Cardinal Murphy-O’Connor said: “It is important that there are regular opportunities to meet with my fellow priests so that we may share our ideas, successes and concerns. The vision outlined in Communion and Mission was of a growing togetherness in our Diocese, and I hope that through these encounters we can further deepen our unity.” The meetings will take the form of a joint reflection by the Cardinal and the priests on Communion and Mission, the White Paper issued in 2006 in which the Cardinal outlined five pastoral priorities for the Diocese, and the implementation of these priorities. There will be eleven meetings in total, taking place in different parts of the Diocese. This will provide an opportunity for the Cardinal, together with the Auxiliary Bishop with pastoral responsibility for that part of the Diocese, to hear the concerns of the priests. |
