Interior Prayer during Lent
This course is deliberately designed to have five sessions to occupy the weeks of Lent prior to Holy Week. These five evening talks will explore different aspect of the interior prayer traditions of the Church. Come and join us to hear some inspiring and gifted speakers who will explain some important aspects of the Church’s spiritual life.

3rd March 09 Spiritual Direction-is about an ongoing relationship between two people or a group of people who want to be serious about their spiritual life and who meet on a regular basis to talk about their Prayer life. Our speaker will be Sr. Pia Buxton.
10th March 09 Lectio Divina- is a method of prayer from the monastic tradition of the Church. Our speaker will be: Fr. Damien Cassidy, O. Carm.
17th March 09 Learning to See the World and Our Roles in It Through the Eyes of God-prayer that leads us to a life of action, justice, mercy and the universal call to holiness. Our speaker will be Catherine Waters-Clark.
24th March 09 Meditation-pondering God’s presence and activity in our lives and in the world, to discover the movement that stir our heart to seek God in all things. Our speaker will be Rev. Robert Fletcher. (tbc)
31st March 09 Contemplation-is union with the indwelling Christ that takes place in the heart at prayer. Our speaker will be Fr. Laurence Freeman, OSB. (tbc)
No pre-booking required. All of these talks are free. Refreshments will be provided.
Each participant will receive a free CD on prayer and the new prayer book “Let Us Pray” when they attend a session.
McCrimmons Bookshop will also be providing a selection of books on spirituality which can be ordered or purchased at the sessions.
Attendance at all 5 sessions + some course reading and the completion of a short assignment counts as a CCRS Elective Module.
