DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
______________________________________DO YOU WANT TO BE AN ALTAR SERVER?
TRAINING SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY AT 10.30AM
Altar servers are always needed to assist the Priest in Celebrating Mass.
It is an honour and privilege to do so. Servers are needed at all Sunday Masses not just the
10am. If you have made your First Holy Communion, you are eligible.
If you are interested, come to the training session on 11 February at 10.30am.
Children should attend with one parent who must be present for the whole session.

THE RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION
I must bring to your attention the issue of reception of Holy Communion. The Church
requires all who receive Holy Communion to consume the Sacred Host at the altar before
returning to their places. We are receiving the real presence of Christ and nothing should
distract us from that reality. I have also heard from other Priests, of parents giving a
portion of the Host to their young children. This is strictly forbidden and is a desecration
of the Sacrament. I ask parents to ensure that their children receive Our Blessed Lord in a
way that will teach them to understand the privilege they have.
