Christine Gilbert, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools, addressed almost a hundred primary and secondary headteachers during the annual conference at St Mary's University College, Twickenham, on 15 July 2008.

Ms Gilbert spoke about OFSTED's method of inspecting Community Cohesion which is being implemented from September 2008. She also discussed changes to the way in which schools are inspected: the subject of a current consultation. Please follow the link below to download the Powerpoint presentation which accompanied Ms Gilbert's speech.

Headteachers were very interested to hear of the partnership opportunities with St Mary's College which are now being developed. Geraldine Davies, Head of the School of Education, and a former diocesan secondary head, explained how schools can engage with the resources and opportunities available from St Mary's.
