A Mass was celebrated on Wednesday 30 May for the sick and retired priests of our diocese, by Archbishop Vincent Nichols in Westminster Cathedral.
The Mass was attended by a group of retired priests and a few of those who support them. Amongst the supporters was Martin Smith, who works in Clergy House, and has been visiting Fr Horation Hosford since Christmas to distribute Holy Communion to him on a weekly basis.
'Recently,' Martin said, 'We were able to celebrate, along with Sr. Clement, Fr Hosford's 53rd year of ordination.'
Pleased to a part of the Mass acknowledging the continued contribution of the sick and retired priests to our diocese, Martin said,'Wednesday evening also brought people together not only to celebrate the contibution the patrons make to the Fund, but also the contributions of the priests, who have given their lives to the diocese.'
