50th anniversary

2009, a Jubilee year for us. Marking 50 years since our Catholic parish moved into present church.  

The church building was built by the Congregationalists in 1870 and became known as New Court Chapel.  By the 1950s many Irish families had moved to this area and the congregation of the Catholic parish had outgrown its small church.  So in 1959 the Catholics bought the large building from the Congregational community. In 2009 we celebrated our Golden Jubilee in this church. We are very grateful to Stephanie Wright who designed and created this Jubilee window.
