Dedicated to St Theresa of the Child Jesus (1873 - 1897), a French Carmelite Sister, the Church is placed in the spiritual tradition of being rested in the lives and thought, both of St Theresa and the earlier Carmelites St Theresa of Avila and St John of the Cross.
This dedication provides the focus for a mission statement:
- The proclamation of the Gospel and the spiritual tradition of the Church;
- The offering of a warm welcome;
- The offering of theological, spiritual and pastoral guidance;
- Ecumenical dialogue with our partner Churches: St Anselms, Church of England, and Hatch End Free Church;
- The awareness of issues relating to justice and peace in the world and in society.
